Roseville String Ensemble performs fall concert

The Roseville String Ensemble’s fall 2016 concert, scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 6, begins at 3:30 p.m. in Sundin Music Hall at Hamline University. A pre-concert talk given by the ensemble’s conductor, Jim Hainlen, begins at 3 p.m.

Music from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries will demonstrate ways in which composers have found their inspiration. The program includes works by Charles Avison (Scarlatti), Grieg, Percy Grainger, Ralph Vaughn Williams, William Grant Still, Morton Gould, and Henry Mancini.

Sundin Music Hall is located at 1531 Hewitt Ave., in St Paul. Roseville String Ensemble concerts are free and open to the public. Donations are encouraged and gratefully accepted. Formed in 1998, the Roseville String Ensemble is the Twin Cities’ only amateur string orchestra.
