St. Paul Hiking Club November

The St. Paul Hiking Club announces these November hikes: 

Note: TUESDAY hikes are 11:30 a.m. (Nov. – March)

• Sunday, Nov. 13 – 2:30 p.m. Meet in Hidden Falls Regional Park, 1415 Hidden Falls Dr., in St. Paul. Use the north gate, just north of Magoffin, off Mississippi River Blvd. Park in the first lot. We’ll hike the trails in the park.

• Tuesday, Nov. 15 – 11:30 a.m. Meet at Jerry’s Foods, 7760 Hargis Parkway in Woodbury. Take Interstate Highway 494 to Lake Rd., take Lake Rd. east to Radio Drive, turn right, go to Bailey Rd. Park at Jerry’s. (Hargis Parkway intersects with Radio Dr.)

• Sunday, Nov. 20 – 2:30 p.m. Meet in the parking lot of Rock Island Swing Bridge Park, (a.k.a., the Swing Bridge Trailhead of the Mississippi River Trail), 4465 66th St., in Inver Grove Heights, just a half block east towards the river, past the King of Diamonds. Do not use Mapquest or Google maps. Bing & Apple maps are correct for the location. We’ll hike starting at the swing bridge and then north on the trail.

• Tuesday, Nov. 22 – 11:30 a.m. Meet in front of 2485 Londin Ln., in Maplewood. We’ll walk trails in Battle Creek Regional Park unless the snow is too deep. Directions: From Interstate Highway 94 eastbound, turn right (south) on McKnight Rd. Go about one-in-a-half miles to Londin Lane, left (east) on Londin Ln., left into Connemara Condos. The building is the furthest on the right.

• Sunday, Nov. 27 – 2:30 p.m. Meet at Rice Lake Elementary School, 575 Birch St. in Lino Lakes. Take Rice St. north until you see a street sign saying Hodgson Rd. Take Hodgson Rd. and go north. Turn right at Birch St., go two blocks to the school. We will hike on paved trails and go over three boardwalks.

• Tuesday, Nov. 29 – 11:30 a.m. Meet at Silver Lake Park, 1776 Lake Blvd in North St. Paul. Directions: Going East on Highway 36, turn north on Century to 19th Ave., then left (east) to Lake Blvd. (south side of the lake.) It’ll be a trails and residential hike.

Sunday hikes are about five miles and last about two hours. Tuesday hikes are about three miles and last about one hour.
