Concordia Academy plays host

Concordia Academy was host to more than 1,000 Lutheran elementary students, teachers and parents on Jan. 23 as they celebrated National Lutheran Schools Week. Concordia’s high school students and teachers were in charge of the various activities throughout the day, including mini-courses such as science and creative dramatics, choir performances, making 56 blankets for Lutheran World Relief, playing games and participating in a worship service. Visiting schools at the day-long event included Central Lutheran, St. Paul; Gethsemane, Maplewood; King of Kings, Roseville; St. John, Elk River; St. John s, Corcoran; St. Paul’s, Prior Lake; Trinity Academy, Hudson; Trinity First, Minneapolis; Trinity Lone Oak, Eagan; and Trinity, St. Francis. Although the event took place on a single day, National Lutheran Schools Week ran the entire week of Jan. 22-28, celebrating the mission and ministry of the 2,300 schools in the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod.
