Lowry Grove vigil

Some 200 people showed up in intervals during a 24-hour vigil that started at Nativity Lutheran Church in support of the Lowry Grove manufactured housing community in St. Anthony Village. The vigil, which began the afternoon of Saturday, April 28, commemorated one year since residents were told they would have to leave the property due to its sale to Wayzata-based Continental Property Group, which plans to redevelop the land. Lowry Grove residents and their supporters at the vigil awaited a decision from the court of appeals on the legality of the sale, scheduled to be made May 8. About 100 people still live on the property.
