Fire prevention open house

Oakdale is hosting a fire prevention open house Oct. 2 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. This family-friendly event features fire station tours, safety information and classes, refreshments, drawings for prizes and an obstacle course for children. The open house will be held at Oakdale Fire Department, Station One, 500 Hadley Ave. N.


The ABC’s of being younger next year

Enjoy an evening with three speakers who will share their expertise about enhancing physical fitness, nutrition and social connectedness. This event is being hosted by Oakdale Wellness 50+ at the Oakdale Discovery Center, 4444 Hadley Ave. N. The event will occur from 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 5. Please call 651-747-3860 to register. 


STEM Saturday: Raptors of Minnesota with the Raptor Center

Naturalists from The Raptor Center will bring live birds of prey to the Oakdale Public Library Oct. 7 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Learn about the different raptors found in Minnesota and learn why these magnificent raptors are so important for our world in this interactive presentation. Recommended for ages 5 and up. Registration appreciated but not required. Register online, at the library, or by calling 651-730-0504. The Library is located at 1010 Heron Ave. N.
