Carry-Out Booya

4-H open house

The annual Washington County 4-H Open House will take place Oct. 14 at the Washington County Fairgrounds from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This is an opportunity for families interested in 4-H or even current 4-H families to get hands on experience and learn about all that 4-H has to offer. Washington County’s 4-H clubs will be in attendance with activities and demonstrations. Scott Carver annual buckthorn removal project 

The Oakdale Tree Board is coordinating a buckthorn removal project Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. to noon. The event will take place at the intersection of 46th Street N. and Granada Avenue N. in Oakdale. Volunteers of all ages are needed, though children under age 12 must have supervision. Lunch will served following the event. Sauerkraut supper

A family style sauerkraut supper will be hosted on Oct. 17 at Christ Lutheran Church, 11194 36th St. N. in Lake Elmo. The supper will offer all you can eat roast pork and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and gravy, rutabagas, bread and butter, a slice of pie, coffee and milk. Serving time for lunch will be 11:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m. Serving times for dinner will be from 4 to 4:30 p.m. and from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. Takeout meals will also be available. The cost is $16 for adults, and children under 12 are free with an adult ticket. For more information or to buy a ticket call 651-777-2881.
