Warm coats needed for ex-prisoners

Jehovah Lutheran Church is collecting winter coats for just-released prisoners re-entering society. Gently used large, XL and XXL coats, jackets and other winter clothing are welcome. Donors can place items in the CrossingHOME shopping cart in the church’s donation center, indoors and to the left of the Thomas Avenue entry. The church is at 1566 Thomas Ave. in St. Paul. Drop-off items Sundays before or after 10:15 a.m. worship or call the church at 651-644-1421 to set up another time. 

 

Tropics Waterpark dive-in movie night

The Tropics Waterpark at Shoreview Community Center is hosting another dive-in movie and Ralph Reeder Food Shelf donation night on Nov. 17 starting at 6 p.m. Those who donate a non-perishable item will receive one free glow-in-the-dark necklace while supplies last. SAVHS presents Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”

St. Anthony Village High School’s fall musical, Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” will be performed in the St. Anthony High School Multi Purpose Room on Nov. 17 starting at 7 p.m.; Nov. 18 starting at 7 p.m.; and Nov. 19 starting at 2 p.m. Family Fun Day, also in the school’s multi purpose room, is Nov. 19 starting at 12:30 p.m. Musical tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Casey’s Concert in Mounds View

Casey’s Concert is Sunday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. at Sunrise United Methodist Church, 7687 Long Lake Road in Mounds View. Casey Rafn, pianist at Sunrise, will be giving a piano concert playing classical, spiritual and seasonal pieces, followed by a meet-and-greet ice cream social. The concert is free with a good will offering supporting the Pinewood Elementary Performing Arts Club.

 

Sunset Yoga at Silverwood Park

A Sunset Yoga session will be held at Silverwood Park starting Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. The cost is $12 and the program is for ages 14 and up. Participants will learn to build awareness, concentration and strength and to link breath with movement by deepening the mind-body connection. St. Charles blood drive

St. Charles Borromeo Church at 2739 Stinson Blvd. NE in St. Anthony will host Memorial Blood Bank on Monday, Nov. 20 from 2 to 7 p.m. in Doran Hall. There is a constant need for blood; Minnesota hospitals use 700-800 units of blood each day for victims of trauma or burns, surgical patients and cancer patients. An indoor farmers’ market will be held Nov. 21 at the Shoreview Community Center starting at 4 p.m. Winter produce, baked goods, canned goods and hand-crafted artisan items will be available. New Neighbor’s Club holiday coffee

If you are a woman who is new to the area, have had some life changes, or would just like to make new friends, go to the New Neighbor’s Club holiday coffee gathering on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. at the Shoreview Community Center.
