Arden Hills

Burglary

A 26-year-old man told police Nov. 26 someone had stolen some $3,000 worth of painting supplies out of the back of his truck as it was parked in a garage in the 1300 block of Arden View Drive. The garage was closed but not locked and there were no signs of forced entry — the bed of the man’s truck was cut, though, and among the losses was a $1,600 paint sprayer.

A 64-year-old woman told police someone had burglarized her business in the 3500 block of Lexington Avenue sometime during the weekend of Nov. 25, stealing an undisclosed amount of money from hiding spots inside the business. She found the front door unlocked; police have a possible suspect.

 

Grinch move

A 69-year-old man told police Nov. 27 someone had stolen a $200 artificial Christmas tree out of his car as it was parked outside his home in the 1700 block of Janet Court.

 

Who let the dogs out?

A 4 a.m. Nov. 24 call to the sheriff’s department on Nov. 24 sent deputies to the area of Fairview Avenue and County Road D, on the hunt for a chocolate Labrador and a golden retriever that were reportedly out running around, but the dogs were gone when the cops arrived.


 

Falcon Heights

Break room breach

A 52-year-old woman who works at the appliance store in the 1700 block of Snelling Avenue told police Nov. 13 someone had rummaged through her belongings that were being kept in the employee break room. She reported the loss of two credit cards, which, by the time she talked to police, had already been used in Little Canada and Roseville.

 

Disorderly

A 24-year-old former employee of the sub shop in the 1500 block of Larpenteur Avenue returned to his former place of work Nov. 14; he was intoxicated and making threats. By the time officers arrived, the man was gone, but officers contacted him later and told him to stay away from the business.

 

Recovered cars

Officers were told Nov. 18 about a suspicious, unoccupied vehicle parked in the area of Fry Street and Maple Knoll Drive. They arrived and found one of its windows had been smashed, so they called the car’s owner to tell her that it must have been stolen. The owner came and recovered her 2000 Honda, worth about $2,000, and told officers she was missing a jacket that had been in the car, a $200 loss. Here the police report takes a turn: While checking the area, officers came upon a 20-year-old man walking in the area. He told officers that he’d stopped to urinate in a nearby field. He was given a verbal warning about disorderly conduct.

A 47-year-old man told police Nov. 19 his 1999 Honda was stolen from the 1700 block of Arona Street from in front of his home. It was an estimated loss of $2,000, until Nov. 20, when Roseville police found the car in their city, unoccupied. The car was impounded and the man was left a message that the car’d been found.

 

Stolen catalytic converter

An employee at the food hub located in the 1500 block of Larpenteur Avenue told police Nov. 14 someone had stolen the catalytic converter from a company truck, a more than $1,000 loss.


 

Lauderdale

Arrest

Police arrested a 28-year-old man Nov. 17 at Larpenteur Avenue and Pleasant Street for two outstanding warrants out of Ramsey and Dakota counties, both for drugs. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail.

 

Inside job

A 32-year-old man told police Nov. 17 someone had stolen a large amount of cash from his apartment in the 1600 block of Carl Street and the prime suspect is a 31-year-old man who had access to the apartment.

 

Rummaged

A 31-year-old woman told police Nov. 13 someone rummaged through her locked car as it was parked at her work in the 1600 block of Eustis Street.


 

Little Canada

Hot grill

A 53-year-old man told police Nov. 27 that a $217 stainless steel grill was stolen from a business in the 2500 block of Rice Street sometime between Nov. 22 and the day the theft was reported. Grills have serial numbers, though the man didn’t have his.


 

Mounds View

Arrest

Police stopped a car in the 7600 block of Woodlawn Drive Nov. 24 and cited the driver, a 29-year-old Minneapolis man, for driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia. A 16-year-old passenger was cited for underaged possession of an e-cigarette.

 

DWI

Police arrested a 49-year-old Arden Hills woman for speeding and third-degree DWI after she was stopped in the 5500 block of Quincy Street the early morning of Nov. 26.

 

Hit and run

A person who lives in the 7900 block of Greenfield Avenue called police Nov. 23 to report that someone had driven into their parked car, then driven off.

 

There’s worst timing

A resident who lives in the 2500 block of Mounds View Boulevard told police Nov. 21 their air conditioner had been damaged.

 

Stolen truck(s)

Someone stole a red, 1999 Ford truck from the 4800 block of Mustang Circle as reported Nov. 22.

Someone stole a red, 2003 Chevy Trailblazer from the 2400 block of County Road I as reported Nov. 23.


 

New Brighton

Burglary

A 29-year-old man told police Nov. 26 someone had gotten in to his garage in the 700 block of 10th Street NW and stolen some $880 worth of stuff, including a toolbox, an XL Viper drone, floor cleaner and a chainsaw.

 

Package theft

A 41-year-old woman told police Nov. 27 someone had stolen a package containing pillows worth $40 that same day from her home in the 2500 block of Sunbow Lane.

 

Stolen guns

A 23-year-old Montana man told police Nov. 24 someone had smashed the back window of his 2005 Toyota 4-Runner as it was parked in the 700 block of Torchwood Drive and stolen a $1,000 shotgun and a $450 rifle. Each were in cases and unloaded. The man was in town visiting family and on his way to hunt in Wisconsin. He was unable to immediately give police the guns’ serial numbers.

 

Stolen truck(s)

A 25-year-old man told police Nov. 26 someone had stolen his blue, 2003 Toyota Highlander from a parking lot in the 100 block of 10th Street NW. The man had paid off the vehicle and it was confirmed as not being towed.

Just after 5 a.m. Nov. 22, a 34-year-old man called police to report the theft of his 2004 GM Envoy, which had been idling outside his place in the 800 block of County Road E.

Someone stole a 2003 Dodge Club Cab pickup truck from the auto dealer in the 1500 block of 26th Avenue NW as reported Nov. 20. It was a $4,000 loss.

A 19-year-old woman’s 2004 Land Rover was stolen sometime overnight into Nov. 17 from the 1600 block of 17th Avenue. The SUV had been left unlocked with the keys inside it. The Land Rover later turned up in Mounds View, on Nov. 21.

St. Anthony

Burglary

A 27-year-old woman told police Nov. 18 an unkown man knocked on her door because he was angry about “the circumstances surrounding his vehicle,” as stated in he police report. The woman closed the door on the man, who then went and kicked in her garage service door, entered the garage and kicked over a stack of cans, before threatening the woman. The man fled the garage when the woman said she was going to call the police. A 22-year-old man is a possible suspect, though police have yet to track him down.

 

E-smoking in the girls room?

Police were told Nov. 15 that two 17-year-old girls were caught using e-cigarettes at St. Anthony Village High School. Officers came and questioned them and gave them citations for underage use and possession of tobacco. School staffers also said they’d tell the girls’ parents.

 

Fake bill

Someone used a counterfeit $100 bill at the Cub Foods in the 3900 block of Silver Lake Road as reported Nov. 18. Employees at the grocery store were able to jot down the person’s liscense plate number, and officers later stopped the car. The driver, a 58-year-old woman, was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for gross misdemeanor forgery.

 

Lock the car

A 62-year-old woman told police Nov. 14 someone had rummaged through her car as it was parked unlocked outside a business in the 2600 block of 39th Avenue; she was out a pack of cigarettes and an expired ID.

 

Package thefts

A 27-year-old told police Nov. 15 he had six packages delivered to his place in the 3800 block of Macalaster Drive — notifications showed they’d been left there — but he never received them.

 

Pipe thief

A 40-year-old man told police Nov. 14 someone had broken into his van as it was parked in the 3200 block of Diamond Eight Terrace and stolen a carpet-stretching pipe, a loss of $500.

 

Stolen camper

A 48-year-old man told police Nov. 15 someone had stolen his pop-up camper from the 2900 block of Anthony Lane, a loss of $2,500.

 

Theft

Employees at the Cub Foods in the 3900 block of Silver Lake Road stopped a 23-year-old man who was attempting to steal $82.47 worth of merchandise. Police came and cited the man for misdemeanor theft; he was also cited for possession of a hypodermic needle and drug paraphernalia.
