Falcon Heights

Detox

A very intoxicated 44-year-old man was fighting with relatives at apartments in the 1500 block of Larpenteur Avenue Dec. 10 and was taken to detox. The man blew a .35 blood alcohol concentration.

 

Grinch in the darkness

A 69-year-old woman told police Dec. 4 someone had cut the wires for her tree lights in three different locations at her home in the 1800 block of Simpson Street; her son spliced the wires back together, but they were cut again. 

 

Package theft

A 37-year-old woman told police Dec. 5 someone had stolen two packages worth $80 total from her home in the 1600 block of Hollywood Court.

A 72-year-old woman told police Dec. 8 about the theft of two packages from her home in the 2100 block of Folwell Avenue.

 

Riding dirty

Police arrested the 22-year-old driver of a car stopped Dec. 4 at Albert Street and Hoyt Avenue for fifth-degree drug possession — the man had methamphetamine on him — along with driving with a suspended license, possession of an open bottle and insurance violations. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail, along with a 35-year-old male passenger, who was also arrested for possession of meth.


 

Lauderdale

Harassment

A 42-year-old woman who lives in the 1700 block of Malvern Street told police Dec. 4 a 53-year-old neighbor had been outside yelling at her daughter, in violation of a restraining order. Police questioned the man; the case is pending further investigation.


 

Mounds View

DWI

Police arrested a 37-year-old man Dec. 9 in the 5100 block of Red Oak Drive for third-degree DWI and for leaving the scene of a crash.

 

Theft

Police arrested a 52-year-old Coon Rapids woman for stealing $349 from a store in the 4800 block of Old Highway 8 as reported Dec. 5.


 

St. Anthony

Armed robbery

Police received a call about suspicious activity at the cell phone store in the 2700 block of 39th Avenue Dec. 9, and then shortly thereafter someone set off the panic alarm at the business. According to a store employee and a witness, a man had gone into the back room and implied he had a gun. The man stole 16 phones, which together amounted to $13,3699.84, and fled. Police have security footage of the robbery and a description of the thief.

 

Burglary?

A 26-year-old man told police that he was told by a third party that a former friend had entered his residence while he was out of town and stolen a skateboard and some jewelry, a loss of $100. The 26-year-old told police that, since he’s out of town, he’s been unable to confirm what he was told; police have information about the possible suspect, if any of this actually happened.

 

DWI

A 24-year-old Lakeland woman stopped Dec. 9 at 37th Avenue and Chandler Drive was arrested for second-degree DWI and driving with a revoked license. She’d blown a .23 blood alcohol concentration and was booked at the Ramsey County Jail.

 

Phone jack

An employee at the cell phone store in the 2700 block of 39th Avenue reported Dec. 8 a theft of 11 phones from the store by a former employee who stole the devices on two seperate occasions. After the second theft, the employee never showed up to work again. The phones are worth more than $9,000. Police are looking at security footage and have the phones’ serial numbers.

 

Suspicions confirmed

Someone called police Dec. 7 to report a suspicious vehicle parked at apartments in the 3800 block of Macalaster Drive, and the person’s suspicions proved to be correct. One of the people in the car, a 20-year-old man, was found to have a Hennepin County warrant out for felony first-degree aggravated robbery. Another man in the car, a 23-year-old, had a Hennepin County warrant out for driving without a valid driver’s license. Both were booked at the Hennepin County Jail. A 19-year-old man in the car was arrested and cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana.

 

Terroristic threats

Police were told Dec. 8 about a student making threatening statements towards St. Anthony Village High School and another student. The student in question was identified as a 13-year-old boy. The kid was questioned, as were his parents, and the case was turned over to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office for possible charges of felony terroristic threats.
