In honor of February’s “I Love to Read Month” festivities, students and staff at Brimhall Elementary School in Roseville dressed in costume as their favorite storybook character and paraded around the school on March 1. The parade ended at an all-school assembly where students found out that during the month of February they collectively read for more than 1 million minutes.

While students dressed up at Brimhall, the Central Park Elementary School Student Council hosted “Read Around the Park” on March 1, where students partnered up with their “buddies” and traveled together around the school. The pairs stopped at classrooms to hear stories the student council selected to represent the school’s students. Guest readers, such as Roseville Area School Board member Curtis Johnson, were invited and students had their “passports” stamped in each classroom.
