SNAPSHOTS: Keeping it friendly for the pollinators

The Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary was host of the second annual Pollinator Festival, an event organized by the Lower Phalen Creek Project. Attendees were able to visit with a number of organizations invested in the health of pollinators — such as the monarch butterfly — including the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, St. Paul Parks and Recreation, Pollinator Friendly Alliance, Midwest Special Services, Public Art St. Paul, Friends of Swede Hollow, Metropolitan Mosquito Control District and Bees on the Bluff to learn about protecting and supporting such creatures. Visitors were also able to take home free, pollinator-friendly plants from Bailey Nurseries, Gertens and the Lower Phalen Creek project. courtesy of Stevan Yasgur, Lower Phalen Creek Project
