RASP selling Metro Dining Club cards

The Roseville Area Senior Program (RASP) is selling boxes of Metro Dining Club (MDC) cards. Each box contains 166 cards for popular restaurants in the north and northeast suburbs, as well as Minneapolis and St. Paul. Each restaurant offers a card so two people dining can receive the second meal free each month for a full year. MDC cards can be purchased for $25 at the RASP office at 1910 County Road B in Roseville. For more information call 651-604-3520. Proceeds assist in funding Roseville Meals on Wheels, RASP transportation, and educational programming and services for older adults. RASP serves older adults throughout Roseville, Little Canada, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale and parts of Maplewood, Shoreview and Arden Hills. 

 

Shoreview Library hosts climate presentation

The Shoreview Library is hosting Dr. Mike Menzel’s presentation “Consequences of Climate Change on Public Health in Minnesota” on Thursday, Oct. 11, starting at 7 p.m. Menzel is a member of Health Professionals for a Healthy Climate, a nonprofit think tank engaged in educating both health care professionals and the general public about the consequences of climate change on public health. Menzel is a retired anesthesiologist with 34 years experience at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He has a special interest in air pollution and respiratory disease. He is a member of the environmental task force of the Twin Cities Medical Society. The event is sponsored by North Ramsey County Climate Actions. Mounds View Lions spaghetti dinner

The Mounds View Lions Club is holding its annual spaghetti dinner on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Kraus Hartig VFW, 8100 Pleasent View Drive NE in Spring Lake Park. All proceeds stay in the community.

 

Hope Christian Church craft fair

Hope Christian Church is hosting its third annual craft fair on Saturday, Oct. 13, starting at 9 a.m. All items for sale are handmade. Hope Christian Church is located 4911 Hodgson Road in Shoreview. For more information call 651-795-9985.

 

 

Fall craft fair and bake sale

The Sunrise United Methodist Church fall craft fair and bake sale is on Saturday, Oct. 27, starting at 9 a.m. There will be craft vendors, baked goods, a silent auction and quilt raffle. Home-baked rolls and coffee will be available from 9 to 11 a.m., and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch will be grilled chicken breast, homemade mashed potatoes, Caesar salad, stuffed mushrooms and pie for desert. St. Anthony Library hosts author talk

St. Anthony Library is hosting author William Kent Krueger’s presentation “Why Books Matter” on Sunday, Oct. 28, starting at 6:30 p.m. Krueger is a New York Times bestseller and the author of of over ten books. Books sales and signing will be available after the presentation, which is co-sponsored by the Friends of St. Anthony Library and the Legacy of St. Anthony.  St. Anthony Library is located at 2941 Pentagon Drive in St. Anthony. Meet the candidates in the judicial races

To provide voters an opportunity to meet candidates in the Second Judicial District and Minnesota Court of Appeals races, there will be a forum from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28, in the community room at the Roseville Library, 2180 Hamline Ave. N. All candidates for Ramsey County judicial seats have been invited to participate. The forum will be moderated by Andrew Gordon, associate director at the Legal Rights Center. The free, public forum is co-sponsored by Do Good Roseville, Falcon Heights We Can Do Better, the St. Paul African American Leadership Council, and the Coalition for a Diverse Ramsey County Bench.
