EagleCrest Terrace Independent Living, 2925 Lincoln Drive in Roseville, has a group of nine ladies who regularly meet to knit sweaters, caps, scarves, mittensand more for school-age children of disadvantaged families in and around the Roseville/St. Paul area.

The project began 10 years ago and continues to produce a greater number of garments each year. On Oct. 26, all the garments were displayed in the EagleCrest Terrace lobby before they were gifted and delivered to the following three places: Roseville elementary schools, Lutheran Social Services and Interfaith Action of Greater St. Paul (formerly St. Paul Council of Churches).

Most of the yarn has been generously donated by friends, family and neighbors. The group welcomes yarn of any type, color or amount. So, if you have yarn or other knitting accessories tucked away somewhere in your closets, consider donating it to the group to use for the garments that it will continue to create to delight and warm some needy children.

Donations can be brought to the Eagle Crest Terrace office, or one of the knitters would be glad to pick them up. For additional information contact Carol Gilson at 612-201-4468.
