Benedictine Center events

Just Write: Making Time for Words,  Friday, Jan. 11 thru Sunday, Jan. 13. Single rooms are $200; shared rooms $150; commuters $100 (meals included). Writers will find support and encouragement, as they explore what they’re writing, why they’re writing and what they’re discovering about the writing process in one-on-one conversations and small group discussions.  Led by Vic Klimoski, teacher and editor, who has produced six collections of poetry. 

Taize Prayer, Friday, Jan. 18, 7 to 9 p.m. Taize prayer is a world-wide phenomenon consisting of simple chants based on the scriptures and periods of silence, creating an environment that helps participants encounter the mystery of God. Refreshments served afterwards. 

Offering a mini-retreat called “Standing Vigil: A Retreat with Sunday’s Gospel.” It will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, from 3 to 6 p.m. The $30 cost includes dinner. Participants will also join the Sisters for Vigil and enjoy more time together over dinner. It will be led by Rev. Paul Tillman, lead pastor at Oakdale Wesleyan Methodist Church and a Benedictine Oblate at St. Paul’s Monastery.
