29th annual summer activities and safety fair

As the weather gets warmer, learn about upcoming activities at the 29th Annual Summer Activities and Safety Fair. It will be held on Thursday, April 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Community Center, 8055 Barbara Ave., in Inver Grove Heights. Gain information on upcoming summer activities and ongoing safety issues to keep your children safe.

You and your children can talk with fire fighters, nurses and other specialists. Join other children, birth through elementary age and their families, to learn about swimming pool information, library programs, school district information, scouting, adult and youth Community Education classes and activities, local sport association programs, park and recreation programs, nature and garden programs, plus nutrition information, health and more. Learn about fire, water, boat, car seat and child safety.

 Explore an ambulance, police car, fire truck and school bus. In addition, children can practice emergency procedures in the Safe Escape House and have fun in the Fire Safety Hopper with Inver Grove Heights Fire Department; meet Smokey the Bear and Mudonna. Several organizations will have registration for summer programs available.    

The Summer Activities and Safety Fair is offered free to the public as a community service by the Early Childhood Family Education Program of the South St. Paul and Inver Grove Heights public schools.
