Program: Women at the Very Heart of the Great War

Event Description

Join us as Ames Sheldon, author of Eleanor's Wars, a work of historical fiction discusses many of the roles American women who went to serve in France played in support of the Great War. Sheldon will share first-hand accounts and talk about her book which tells the story of a woman who drove an ambulance in World War II.

The Elephants of Ngorongoro

Event Description

Everyone is warmly invited to a special presentation, “The Elephants of Ngorongoro,” on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Harriet Alexander Nature Center in Roseville. Donatus Gadiye, Senior Elephant Researcher at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Tanzania, will give a talk and slideshow updating the current efforts to protect the elephants and other wildlife. Doors open at 7:00pm with the presentation from 7:30-9:00pm. Light refreshments will be provided.

Event Description

LWV St. Paul and LWV Dakota County will co-host a moderated panel discussion regarding how to improve community responses to sexual assault on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at the St. Paul Neighborhood Network (SPNN) television studio. Tickets are free but required due to space limitations. The panel discussion will be preceded by a reception with light refreshments from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
