Arden Hills family to use service dog to help with autism


submitted photo Jonah Hoffer, 4, was recently diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. One of his most challenging symptoms is eloping, or bolting when faced with overstimulation. To help him and his Arden Hills family, the Hoffers will be welcoming a new family member — a service dog named Ivan.

When the Hoffer family of Arden Hills was given an official diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder this summer for their youngest, Jonah, it wasn’t necessarily a surprise, but it was still life-changing.
