The League of Women Voters St. Paul held a Sept. 18 roundtable discussion with St. Paul Public School board candidates at the East Side Freedom Library.
The new pickleball courts at North Valley Park, 2800 70th St. in Inver Grove Heights, officially opened Sept. 17 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony full of puns. The six new courts replaced tennis courts.

A new community gathering space called Urban Village has opened at 1082 Arcade St.
The space, geared toward supporting the local Karen community, fills a long-vacant building.

Community of Peace Academy, located at 471 Magnolia Ave. in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood, will be starting construction on an addition to its building in October. The school has about 800 students and the addition will allow it to increase enrollment.
