Community of Peace Academy announced Jan. 30 that Character.org, a national advocate and leader for character in collaboration with Synergy & Leadership Exchange, named Community of Peace Academy a 2019 Minnesota School of Character.

The Feb. 4 South St. Paul City Council meeting agenda packet had several photos showing the disrepair of the house at 110 Third St. S. Each photo listed what needed to be fixed at the home, which has no running water or electricity, for it to be deemed habitable again. The council took action requiring the home’s owner to fix the numerous issues.

South St. Paul plans to add bump outs to Fifth Avenue South as part of its $5.4 million renovation of the road. Bump outs help reduce parking illegally close to intersections and improve pedestrian safety.
The South St. Paul City Council voted Jan. 22 to unanimously move forward with the renovation of Fifth Avenue South, giving the City Engineering Department the green light to finalize plans.

As a part of the St. Paul Grand Round project, a two-mile trail will be constructed in 2020 along Johnson Parkway between Phalen Regional Park and Indian Mounds Regional Park, filling in missing pedestrian and bicycle connections.
