Hazel Park Middle School Academy principal Coleman McDonough enjoys modeling correct reading behavior for an entire school of teens in need of love, respect, and intellectual challenge.
The East Side Review sat down with the Hazel Park Middle School Academy principal in the wake of his recently being named 2010 Minnesota Middle Level Principal of the Year by the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals, after taking the helm of the school in 2007.

Farnsworth students reach for stars
As part of the St. Paul Public Schools, Farnsworth Aerospace began seven years ago, offering preschool-fourth grade at their location as 1290 Arcade St. For the 2008-09 school year, the school expanded to add 5th-8th grade at 1000 Walsh St. (formerly Cleveland Jr. High).

Twin Cities Academy, committed to Dayton's Bluff
Twin Cities Academy & Twin Cities Academy High School (located at 835 E. 5th Street) are new to the neighborhood. Previously, the schools were located in the West 7th neighborhood of St. Paul. Twin Cities Academy serves grades 6-8 and is in its eleventh year of operation with approximately 200 students.

In the first new school year in the second decade of the new millennium, Mounds View school district will take a step forward in toward the electronic age; they will add their first online courses to their course catalogue this spring and students will enroll in online classes for the next school year.
