Judicial remedies

Going to court to sue someone is not the same as going to see a doctor. That seems like a pretty obvious statement, right? Few would disagree and yet quite a few people who come to court don’t always understand the difference.

In discussion of City Hall murals, many ask for them to go

courtesy of Jane Prince The East Side Freedom Library held a community conversation about murals in St. Paul City Hall on Jan. 10. The murals have raised concerns for a number of years due to their depiction of African American and indigenous peoples in relation to white men. More recently, residents have wondered if the murals should continue to be on display in what is considered a democratic space.

Community members gathered at the East Side Freedom Library Jan. 10 to discuss murals inside St. Paul City Hall and whether the city council chambers is an appropriate place for them to be on display.

SNAPSHOTS: A winter playground

photos courtesy Dodge Nature Center When snow was still on the ground, Cornelius the goat enjoyed his first winter at Dodge Nature Center. Besides hoofprints from him prancing around, other marks could be found in the snow, like the curious circles found by a naturalist. As it turns out, the circles were drawn by leaves, with a little help from the wind.
