Bear shot to death in North St. Paul


A bear found in North St. Paul was deemed an immediate threat and was shot and killed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources April 25. (submitted photo)

After determining a bear that had wandered into North St. Paul to be an immediate safety threat, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources shot and killed the animal April 25.

More approvals for school, homes at Roseville armory site

The Roseville City Council is continuing to help chart the course for the National Guard Armory site in the southeast corner of the city, which is planned to become a Montessori school and four homes.

Amid building boom, District 623 braces for operating budget cuts

The near $70 million worth of construction and upgrades currently underway at Roseville Area High School are apparent to anyone who drives by on Highway 36.

County plans fewer lanes on Larpenteur to increase safety


Mike Munzenrider Ramsey County plans to convert a stretch of Larpenteur Avenue that borders Roseville from four lanes to three lanes in an effort to increase pedestrian safety.

The Roseville City Council was updated April 15 about planned safety improvements to a stretch of Larpenteur Avenue where two pedestrians were killed in a single crash earlier this year.

New Brighton Planning Commission supports subsidies for elementary site redevelopment

Another benchmark has been passed on the way to redevelopment of the former New Brighton Elementary School site.

Mounds View to finalize purchase of Skyline Motel site


Bridget Kranz Mounds View is finalizing its purchase of the Skyline Motel, which is situated just off of Interstate 35W directly across from the planned Rice Creek Commons development in Arden Hills.

The Mounds View Economic Development Authority is set to finalize the its $1.3 million purchase of the Skyline Motel property.
