North St. Paul cat shelter finds win-win for cats and kids


Aundrea Kinney/Review • During a June 10 visit to Caring for Cats cat shelter in North St. Paul, Tori read the third book in the “Daisy Dreamer” series to Gaheris, a kitten who was new to the shelter. Tori is a participant in a new reading program called Cat Tales, which is designed to help kids with reading and to help shelter cats become comfortable with kids.

Roseville priest, pastor of both Saint Rose and Corpus Christi, set to retire

Fitzpatrick retires July 1 after 13 years as pastor at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church and six years as pastor of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. The priest of 45 years serves a dual role as pastor of both Roseville churches.

As the Rev. Robert Fitzpatrick holds court in his Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church office looking back on his near half century as a priest, one story in particular moves him most.

More businesses set to fill ‘old 3M site’

Beacon Bluff, also known as the “old 3M site” to most East Siders, is going to look a lot different by the end of the year.

Do not sound the horns


courtesy of the City of Inver Grove Heights • Three railroad crossings in the Concord neighborhood will become quiet zones, where conductors are no longer required to sound their horns, in order help improve quality of life in the area, following a June 11 Inver Grove Heights City Council vote. A crossing in the 105th Street neighborhood could become a quiet zone if the city can find help in funding the roughly $250,000 worth of work required for the designation.
