Rep. Joe Atkins: New meth law shows results

A new law to address the state’s growing meth problem is proving very successful, reported State Rep. Joe Atkins, one of the key drafters of the legislation. In Dakota County, there has been a 75 percent reduction in meth crimes. The same trend has been reported across Minnesota.

Christmas trees for sale

Boy Scout Troops 95, 219 and 288 are selling Christmas trees, wreaths, swags and garland in the Walmart Store parking lot, Highway 35E and Pilot Knob Road in Eagan. The lot will be open Nov. 25 through Dec. 17 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Proceeds go to fund Scouting activities.

Drivers Safety class

An eight-hour AARP Drivers Safety class will be offered to drivers age 55 years and over who have not taken a mature driving course. The two-session class will be held on Mondays, Dec. 12 and 19, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The classes meet at Simley High School, 2920 80th St.
